URBAN DESIGNER

Post:

Urban Design is a core discipline offered by GAPP to private, corporate and public clients. GAPP is lead by some of the foremost Urban Design professionals in the country. The Urban Design portfolio extends from new town developments to mixed use developments, precinct plans and public environment upgrades throughout South Africa and elsewhere in Africa. The selected candidate will become part of the national GAPP team of urban designers, working on urban design projects situated locally and elsewhere in Southern Africa. The candidate will be based in the Johannesburg office.

Skills and experience:

A candidate with five years experience is being sought. This position will require the candidate to have good analytical and design skills, a familiarity with approval processes, coupled with presentation and communication abilities. Consideration will be given to candidates with good computer skills, including the preparation of reports and graphic presentation capabilities.

Qualifications

Candidates should have obtained a recognised post-graduate Urban Design degree or diploma preferably combined with an Architectural degree or diploma.

Remuneration policy

A competitive package will be negotiated inclusive of leave on a cost to company basis.

Terms

Appoints are confirmed in terms of the Company’s Employment Contract after a probation period of three months.
