BUILDING INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (BIM) & DIGITAL CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION - Baker Baynes and RN Inc

COURSE OVERVIEW

Standard-form contracts are traditionally used to assist with the delivery of physical assets, usually following traditional processes and methods. With the increase in digital workflows and Building Information Modelling/Management (BIM) adoption, one needs to consider the new challenges and opportunities these technologies present in the built environment.

A core concept of the BIM methodology is to aid with the physical project delivery but also deliver a digital asset. The legal implications of a BIM or digital workflow thus combine part traditional construction and part existing law needing to adapt to new technology.

This course is unique in that it covers both the key concepts of BIM, best practices, and execution documents as well as the legal considerations for cloud storage, the use of information, and the application of traditional processes in a digital context.

In this two-day course, we will provide answers to many of the common questions that arise when we talk about BIM and its legal repercussions on projects and equip you with a better understanding of digital contracting, roles and responsibilities, and information management protocols.
