DESCRIPTION

Change Making for Architecture is an independent-learning programme that seeks to enable built environment practitioners to engage reflexively with the challenges of inclusive and sustainable urban development. The course is based on principles of dynamic, action-based learning. The programme is grounded in theories of situated knowledge and reflective practice, and places a strong emphasis on the ethical component of action-learning.

The course offers participants the opportunity to reflect on and evaluate their role in the built environment. The course material, case studies, and discussion is geared to advance the thinking and practice of participatory design. Not only will participants engage with theory, but they will also be provided with practical tools and resources that will enable them to work in collaborative ways to address urban socio-spatial inequalities and contribute to the democratisation of city-making.
