The Authentic Practise of Architecture
How can we chart a course that will lead to the achievement of technical and financial growth; but also
fulfill. the richer set of motivations that caused us to enter into the profession in the first place? How do
we navigate the tension between the two? What about entrepreneurship? At what stage of the
architectural journey does entrepreneurship become a feasible option?
Join our conversation with Dr. Sechaba Maape, an artist, academic at the Wits School of Architecture
and the founder of Afreetekture. By having conversations with people who are engaging architecture
uniquely, YPF hopes to inspire architects to find and develop their own voices and authentic ways of
practicing architecture in South Africa.
