Arch. Daniel van der Merwe has been a practicing Architect since 1992 and is the founding member of Leaf Architects. He was a senior lecturer at the University of Johannesburg and was at the Cement and Concrete Institute between 2008 and 2013 heading the architectural concrete focus area. Daniel is currently serving a second term as Board Director of the Owl House Foundation and is the current Treasurer of the GIfA Management Committee.

Arch. Maria Paschini is a professional architect, arbitrator, and sustainability consultant in

Johannesburg. She lectures on sustainability and energy efficiency for the built environment. In 1996, Maria founded MCP Architect & Arbitrator and has worked in several different-sized practices as well. Maria has co-presented the Professional Practice Workshops for GifA and mentors young women architects/architectural students through the W.H.Y Project.

Arch. Krynauw Nel qualified at the University of the Witwatersrand with a 6-year B.Arch in 1989. He started Krynauw Nel Associates in its original form in 1994. The practice does a variety of work including commercial, industrial, residential, and special projects. Krynauw has served GIfA for some 5 years on its Professional Practice Committee and founded the GifA Transformation Committee also serving on the Professional Practice Committee and now the Transformation Committee of SAIA.  He is also a Past President of GIfA.
