The re-imagined gym sits within the spirit of the original buildings, not disrupting

the old proportions and clipping itself into the Art Deco and Edwardian features.

The aim was to create a destination state-of-the-art facility which fits into the legacy

of The Country Club Johannesburg.

This building has views over the new Padel courts which are connected to the

gym, pool and patio via a sculpted paved pathway that borders the new winding

indigenous gardens. This path replaces an old road with a new piece of landscape

that integrates and challenges the old heritage of the club.
