Bio
Namibian-born Dieter Brandt is a leading pan-African environmental and creative consultant and a transition design architect. Dieter specialises in spatial sciences and creates places that are a provocation for African ecological futures. Dieter is the founder of Advanced Environmental Design Initiatives (AEDI). AEDI is an African-focused environmental advisory and concept consultancy working to advance socio-ecological systems and eco-centric science-based solutions. His practice as a transition design architect includes climate-proofing ecological and urban landscape systems, circular economies, and carbon project development. Dieter is a senior researcher at the Centre for Ecological Intelligence at the University of Johannesburg
