About the event

How does light shape the way we think, feel, and function?

Join us for the second session of the Neuroarchitecture talk series, “Lighting: Synchronizing the Organism & Environment,” presented by Architect Francois Nortjé (Director, Osmond Lange Architects & Planners).

This session explores the critical role of light in aligning human biology with the built environment. From circadian rhythms to cognitive performance, lighting is more than illumination, it is a fundamental driver of human health, behaviour, and perception.

Through the lens of neuroarchitecture, this talk unpacks how natural and artificial lighting conditions influence mood, productivity, and overall wellbeing. It challenges conventional approaches to lighting design and introduces evidence-based strategies that reconnect the human organism with its environmental context.
