About the event

GIfA invites its members and members of the SAIA Regional Institutes to enter projects for the 2023-2024 Awards.

Eligible projects will be forwarded to the national Panel of Assessors for adjudication of the SAIA Award of Merit and for Excellence.

Demarcation for Projects of GIfA, a Region of SAIA

1.The City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality

2.The City of Sedibeng Metropolitan Municipality

3.The West Rand District Municipality (the region south of the N14)

4.The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (the region south of the N12).

Please note that the submission is online

Work may be submitted to the Region by the author or any member of the Region with the author’s, or other responsible person’s, permission.

Projects that fall in an area under the jurisdiction of the Gauteng Institute for Architecture, and were completed during the period 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2022, are eligible for entry to the 2023-2024 SAIA awards programme.

Please note that all the Regional Institutes are inviting entries for the awards. Members who have done work in an area outside the jurisdiction of the Gauteng Institute for Architecture should obtain (and return) entry forms from the relevant Regional Institute where the project falls.

Projects outside South Africa may be submitted to the member’s Regional Institute. It should be noted that in-loco inspection of these projects may not be possible, and additional video material might be required to adjudicate the project through a virtual review. Should such projects go forward for national adjudication, and funding is made available by the entrant to cover the costs, every effort will be made by the national Panel of Assessors to carry out an in-loco inspection.
