About the event

GIfA inviting you to a Contemporary Concrete Lecture

CPD CAT 1 0,3 points

Presented by:

Pr. Architect Daniel van der Merwe

Concrete is the world’s most used material and as such often overlooked in terms of its potential as a material of architectural expression. Sustainability and responsive design principles are becoming major informants, informing, and necessitating the right choice of materials. In taking up this constant challenge, the potential of concrete needs to be understood.

Objectives of the Lecture

  1. To learn and be informed about more cost effective; energy efficient applications and new concrete-based products available, which can allow architects a greater freedom of choice in terms of specification possibilities.
  2. To be exposed to contemporary architectural precedents, which illustrate the new application possibilities of modern-day concrete.
