All-in-one: Activating Inclusive Housing Design Masterclass

The stated intention of public housing in many African countries, especially South Africa, emphasizes inclusivity. The aspiration for inclusive environments is often articulated in terms of planning and policy, yet the same platforms lack a spatial or architectural vision. 

Join us as we explore what it could or should look like to ‘activate’ inclusivity in the design of human settlements and urban environments.The masterclass is lead by Dr Arch. Paulo Moreira, a practicing architect and specialist in urban reciprocities focusing on Africa; and Arch. Nomonde Gwebu a practicing architect and lecturer specializing in the architectural design of human settlements. The masterclass offers a background in the human settlements and urban environments of selected African and South African examples, before giving you an opportunity to build a collective spatial vision of inclusive housing design.
