The object of the capacity building program is to sensitize all the roll players in the Building Environment about their legal responsibilities in terms of building applications and to clarify any misconceptions that might exist. After the conclusion of this workshop the participants should be able to submit building plan applications to the local Authority that are both correct and which should be able to conform to the expedient approval of the building application and that the correct procedures in terms of the NBR are followed.

The first session will deal with the SA historic content and the reason why building legislation is required. 
The second session will describe how the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act is to be used.
The third session will deal with what could go wrong if we do not adhere to the law as well as describing energy efficiency within the building law.
Each session will be concluded by an interactive session to clarify any misinformation.
